What are the Saskatchewan Wedding Industry Awards (SWIA)?
Saskatchewan Wedding Industry Awards (SWIA) are where wedding professionals are recognized for not only their success in business, but also their unique skills and attention to detail specific to the wedding and event industry! An annual event where wedding business professionals are judged against their peers and awarded based on skill, professionalism, and most importantly, making every couple’s dream come true with the perfect wedding!
Why should I enter?
By entering the SWIA you are given an opportunity to be recognized for all your hard work as a wedding industry professional. As a finalist or a winner you will be seen in the wedding industry as a leader, and be acknowledges for your excellence. Winning an award also provides you with a competitive edge, placing you above others in a crowded market. SWIA is also a great way to celebrate and recognize your dedicated team and staff by bringing them along to the awards with you.
How do the awards work?
Wedding Industry Businesses and/or individuals can enter the Saskatchewan Wedding Industry by submitting an application in the category of their choosing.
After applications are received, they will be judged by a carefully selected panel of industry professionals across the province. Once all applications are scored they are sent to a third party for tabulation.
The top finalists in each category will be announced, with the winner in each category being announced on the night of the awards reception.
Do I need to be nominated?
No. Individuals and companies submit their own applications, and will be judged based on the content of the applications.
Who are the awards open to?
Awards are open to any business or individual servicing the wedding industry that is owned and operated within Saskatchewan. Entries must be a legally registered business within the province of Saskatchewan, and must be in operation for a minimum of 2 years at the time of the awards.
How do I enter?
Please download the application from the category that you wish to enter, and ensure to follow the entry instructions on the application. Be sure to get your application in before the deadline. Entries received after the deadline will be excluded.
TIP *Ensure to fill out the application to the best of your ability, as the judging is based on the content provided in the application.
Can I enter in multiple categories?
Only one category per company. If your company offers multiple services, please enter in the category most suited to your business. Businesses will only be judged based on the category they enter regardless if they offer multiple services.

Is there a fee to enter?
There is no fee to enter the Saskatchewan Wedding Industry Awards
How are the entries scored?
The judges will be scoring all entries received carefully and thoroughly based on a range of criteria for each category. Scoring will be based on what is received and presented in the application. Judges will be scoring applications in all categories.
Judges will be looking at a variety of things in each vendor category including professionalism, originality, customer service, philanthropy, skill and quality. Each area of the application is alloted a certain amount of points, and judges will score each section accordingly.

Can I find out my score?
Physical scores will not be made available at any time to any of the entrants. However the top finalists and winner of each category will be made public.
Who are the judges?
The judges are industry professionals across the province who have been selected based on their years of experience and knowledge in the wedding and event industry. Judges have been specifically chosen to cover and represent different fields within the wedding and event industry as well as their extensive business knowledge. In order to eliminate bias scoring, all judges will score all applications regardless of their different field backgrounds. Judges will not be revealed at any time either before or after the awards conclude for privacy purposes.
Where/When does the awards reception take place?
The awards are an annual event, taking place in the wedding “off-season” that rotates between cities in Northern Saskatchewan and Southern Saskatchewan.
